Knowledge about Flameproof Electric Hoists
Definition
An explosion-proof electric hoist is a special lifting equipment suitable for flammable and explosive hazardous environments. Compared with ordinary electric hoists, all its electrical components including motors, switches, contactors, junction boxes and brakes are treated with explosion isolation and explosion protection. It will not generate electric sparks or high temperatures during operation, thus avoiding ignition of flammable gas, dust and steam to prevent explosion accidents.
Where is it applicable?
1.Chemical workshops, paint booths, oil and gas warehouses, gas stations
2.Coal mines, flour mills, aluminum and magnesium powder processing plants, pharmaceutical workshops
3.Explosion-proof zones with gasoline, alcohol, acetylene, coal dust or combustible dust
Features of Explosion-proof Electric Hoist
1.Explosion-proof motor: Equipped with flameproof enclosures that contain internal sparks and stop flames from spreading to the outside.
2.Explosion-proof electrical accessories: Explosion-proof push buttons, limit switches and junction boxes with sealed and flame-retardant design.
3.Spark-free friction design: Copper, aluminum or other buffer gaskets are installed on metal friction parts to avoid sparks caused by impact.
4.Dustproof sealing: The whole machine is fully sealed to prevent flammable and explosive dust and gas from penetrating into electrical parts.
5.Static protection: The complete equipment is reliably grounded to eliminate risks of static sparks.
Key Differences from Ordinary Electric Hoists
Ordinary electric hoists produce electric arcs and sparks during start, stop and braking, and can only be used in ordinary workshops without flammable and explosive substances. Explosion-proof models feature fully enclosed flameproof electrical parts and are specially designed for hazardous areas. They can only be put into service in hazardous chemical sites with valid explosion-proof certificates.
