What are hand tools?

Hand tools refer to tools that do not require electricity or external energy and are completely dependent on human operation. They are widely used in construction, maintenance, manufacturing and other fields. According to the international standard ISO 5749 and industry practices, they can be divided into the following 8 categories:

 

1. Pliers: used to clamp, bend or shear materials, such as wire cutters, needle-nose pliers, water pump pliers, etc.

 

2. Wrench tools: tighten or remove bolts and nuts, including adjustable wrenches, socket wrenches, torque wrenches, etc.

 

3. Cutting tools: such as utility knives, hacksaws, pipe cutters, etc.

 

4. Measuring tools: tape measures, vernier calipers, spirit levels, etc.

 

5. Striking tools: hammers (claw hammers, rubber hammers), punches, etc.

 

6. Screwdrivers: flat/cross screwdrivers, hex wrenches, etc.

 

7. Assembly tools: such as tweezers, circlip pliers, etc.

 

8. Other special tools: glass cutter, tile cutter, etc.
