Lifting equipment can be divided into several categories according to different structures, such as light and small lifting equipment, elevators, cranes and overhead monorail systems.
1) Light and small lifting equipment mainly includes lifting tackle, slings, jacks, manual hoists, electric hoists and ordinary winches, most of which are small in size, light in weight and easy to use. Except for electric hoists and winches, most of them are driven by manpower and are suitable for occasions where the work is not heavy. They can be used alone, and some can also be used as the lifting mechanism of the crane. Some light and small lifting equipment has a large lifting capacity, such as the lifting capacity of hydraulic jacks has reached 750 tons. The lift mainly performs vertical or nearly vertical lifting and has a fixed lifting route, including elevators, lifting platforms, mine hoists and hopper elevators.
2) Cranes. Cranes are multi-action lifting equipment that lifts vertically and transports heavy objects horizontally within a certain range. ① Bridge type cranes include bridge cranes, special cranes, gantry cranes, loading and unloading bridges, etc. ② Jib cranes include truck cranes, tire cranes, crawler cranes, tower cranes, portal cranes, floating cranes and railway cranes.
3) Elevators are lifting machines that lift heavy objects or objects along guide rails, including passenger or cargo elevators. Although elevators have only one lifting action, their mechanism is very complex, especially passenger elevators, which require complete safety devices and electronic control devices.
