Sliding Contact Wire

Sliding contact wire is a power transmission system designed to supply stable electricity to mobile equipment such as cranes, automated production lines, and electric hoists. It consists of three main components: the sheath, conductor, and collector.

Sheath: Made from high-insulation engineering plastic or aluminum alloy, it houses 3 to 16 insulated conductors and offers protection levels from IP23 to IP55.
Conductor: Constructed from copper or aluminum alloy, its cross-sectional area (e.g., 10 mm², 16 mm², 25 mm²) is determined by current requirements to ensure low resistance and high conductivity.
Collector: Includes brushes, a frame, and a support arm. It transfers power through sliding contact with the conductor and supports movement in three dimensions to match equipment motion.
